Islamic History Curriculum is divided into four significant stages, aligning with the general themes of Islamic history:
Exploration Stage in Quran Recitation:
Start your spiritual journey with the fundamental Arabic letters of the Quran. Under expert guidance, students polish their pronunciation, elevate their listening and writing abilities, and decode words and sentences, setting a robust foundation for Quran recitation.
The Prophetic Era:
This stage encompasses crucial events preceding the prophethood, leading up to the events and occurrences during the time of Prophet Muhammad’s message.
The Era of the Rightly Guided Caliphs:
This period marks the expansion of Islamic territories through conquests following the teachings of Prophet Muhammad, demonstrating the practical application of Islam’s teachings.
The Umayyad Dynasty Era:
This stage represents the era of the Umayyad caliphate, characterized by its political and administrative developments within the Islamic world.
The Abbasid Era, Followed by the Othoman Empire:
This phase includes the Abbasid caliphate, followed by the Othoman Empire, illustrating the continuation and evolution of Islamic governance and civilization.
Prerequisites
Islamic History Curriculum:
The curriculum is designed in a progressive manner to suit all ages starting from five years old. To achieve the objectives of the curriculum, students are required to:- Master either the Arabic or English language.
- Have the ability to communicate remotely.
- Pass the level of religious fundamentals on the Iqra network.
- Not skip a stage at the expense of another unless they have completed the stage through comprehensive study or by passing its respective test.
1- The Era of Prophethood
LEVELS: 1 DURATION: 25 Hours
Summary: A short curriculum covering the time when Prophet Muhammad was delivering his message. It includes these five main parts:
- Environment and Arab Peoples: Talks about what life was like for Arabs before Prophet Muhammad started spreading his message.
- Prophetic Mission: Covers the time when Prophet Muhammad was telling people about Islam, focusing on his early years in Mecca and later in Medina.
- Life of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him): Tells the story of Prophet Muhammad’s life before he became a prophet and the important things that happened to him.
- Battles and Big Events: Talks about the important battles like Badr and Uhud, and other key events such as the Treaty of Hudaybiyyah and the conquest of Mecca.
- Completing the Message: Explains what happened after Prophet Muhammad died, having shared the message of Islam and advised his followers.
2- The Era of the Rightly Guided Caliphs
LEVELS: 1 DURATION: 25 Hours
Summary A curriculum dedicated to the era of the Rightly Guided Caliphs, represented by the four caliphs, may Allah be pleased with them, and the conquests and events they witnessed after the death of the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him. It covers the following axes:
- Conditions in Medina after the Death of the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him.
- The Election of Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq, may Allah be pleased with him.
- Expansion and Islamic Conquests.
- The Era of Umar ibn Al-Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him.
- The Era of Uthman ibn Affan, may Allah be pleased with him, and the Fitnah (tribulations) and disturbances that occurred during his reign.
- The Era of Ali ibn Abi Talib, may Allah be pleased with him.
3- The Umayyad Dynasty Era
LEVELS: 1 DURATION: 15 Hours

The curriculum covers the reign of Al-Saffah and the rule of Abbasid caliphs, highlighting the role of the Fatimid state and the Othoman era. Additionally, it delves into the Andalusian and Mamluk periods, focusing on their foundational stages and periods of weakness in each state.

When did you begin your business?
AlRahman Network was founded in 2017 by three fathers, an MIT research scientist, a Tufts University educator, and Al-Azhar University Sheikh. With each founder bringing a unique skillset, they saw a need to bring proper Quran, Tajweed and Islamic Studies to families living in the West. All founders are now Board Members and work to secure the legacy of AlRahman Network for generations to come.

Our headquarters is in Massachusetts, USA, and we have a satellite branch in Cairo, Egypt. Our staff and teachers are located all over the world. The school is online only, and so, we are able to offer lessons to anyone, anywhere in the world. All you need is a computer, phone, or tablet and an internet connection.
